INDIANAPOLIS — The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), one of the largest advocacy
organizations for women, is recognizing two women for their dedicated service to the
interfraternal community.
Distinguished Service Award
NPC honors Elizabeth (“Betty”) Ahlemeyer Quick with its 2017 Distinguished Service Award. Quick’s service to
NPC began in 1984 when she was appointed to Gamma Phi Beta’s NPC delegation. Since that time, she served
as College Panhellenics chairman, treasurer, secretary and chairman of NPC. While serving as College
Panhellenics chairman, she contributed to the establishment of several new programs and projects including
“Something of Value” and the NPC consulting team visit program. During her tenure as chairman, Quick focused
on the development of NPC’s first strategic plan, implemented a refreshed dues structure to solidify NPC’s
financial position and developed the coalition assessment, in partnership with the North-American Interfraternity
Conference.
Donna King, current NPC chairman, says “It is without a doubt, Betty has positively impacted the NPC through
her dedicated service over the past thirty-one years.” Betty has been previously recognized for her service by
the Association of Fraternity and Sorority Advisors, Fraternity Executives Association, Kappa Delta and Gamma
Phi Beta.
Quick currently serves as a member of Gamma Phi Beta’s NPC delegation as the first alternate delegate. She
also represents Gamma Phi Beta on the Fraternity and Sorority Political Action Committee.
Interfraternal Partner Award
NPC honors Ginny Carroll with its Interfraternal Partner Award. As founder and principal for inGiNuity, Carroll
focuses on team synergy and building competence through retreats, possibilities planning, professional skill
development, keynotes and a variety of other learning strategies.
During the past biennium, Carroll facilitated a series of discussions with NPC and member organizations leaders.
Those discussions led to an in-depth review of director’s job descriptions, an updating of the strategic plan and
an increased focus on communication with member organization leadership.
“NPC realizes we cannot achieve our successes alone and we are grateful for Ginny’s support,” said Dani
Weatherford, NPC executive director. “Her dedication to helping us think critically and progressively about how
we serve our constituents can be seen in the hours she’s spent with our staff and leadership.”
Carroll is a member of Alpha Xi Delta and previously served as NPC’s interim executive director.
Both women will receive their awards at NPC’s annual meeting held at the Westin Denver International Airport
Hotel in October.
