Six scholarship opportunities for sorority women for the 2023-24 academic year
INDIANAPOLIS — The National Panhellenic Conference Foundation (NPC Foundation) today announced it is now accepting scholarship applications for awards to be granted for the 2023-24 academic year. The NPC Foundation will offer six scholarships totaling $7,000. Scholarship opportunities are available for undergraduate and graduate students.

“NPC and its member organizations continue to advocate for ways to make both the cost of a higher education more affordable to more women,” said Diane Straker, president of the NPC Foundation Board of Trustees. “Through the NPC Foundation’s annual scholarship program, we can make a direct impact on college affordability by offering scholarship awards to Panhellenic women who have demonstrated high academic achievement and contributed to the success of their Panhellenic communities.
“Our Scholarship Committee looks forward to reviewing the applications we will receive from the many highly qualified applicants and announcing the six scholarship recipients in late spring 2023.”
The six NPC Foundation scholarship opportunities are listed below.
Alpha Phi/Betty Mullins Jones Scholarship
The Alpha Phi/Betty Mullins Jones Scholarship established by the Alpha Phi Foundation to honor Betty Mullins Jones’ commitment to the National Panhellenic Conference. This scholarship is awarded annually to a collegiate Panhellenic woman who has worked to further her fraternal community’s reputation on her campus and who embodies the values of sisterhood, philanthropy and scholarship. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded to a woman who makes a difference in sorority life by serving on her College Panhellenic.
Carole Jurenko Jones Scholarship
The Carole Jurenko Jones Scholarship, established by Alpha Omicron Pi, honors Carole Jurenko Jones’ commitment to the National Panhellenic Conference, including serving as NPC chairman during the 2017-19 and 2019-21 bienniums. This $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a collegiate member in good standing of a NPC member organization who has served in a chapter or Panhellenic leadership role. It also may be awarded to an alumna in good standing who demonstrates Panhellenic spirit, outstanding service and leadership to her campus or community.
Elizabeth Ahlemeyer Quick/Gamma Phi Beta Scholarship
The Elizabeth Ahlemeyer Quick/Gamma Phi Beta Scholarship was established to honor Elizabeth “Betty” Quick’s long and devoted service to both NPC and Gamma Phi Beta. This $2,000 scholarship is awarded annually to a collegiate member in good standing of one of the NPC member organizations. Nomination is required by College Panhellenic and the nominee must have displayed outstanding service to her local College Panhellenic. The collegiate member must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average and plan to enroll as a full-time junior or senior (as defined by the school) for the upcoming academic year.
Mary Louise Roller Scholarship
Named for Mary Louise Roller, this scholarship was funded by Alpha Omicron Pi in honor of Mrs. Roller’s 33-year tenure on Alpha Omicron Pi’s Panhellenic delegation. The Mary Louise Roller Scholarship is a $1,000 scholarship and will be awarded to an undergraduate woman who plans to attend graduate school the following fall. Each recipient shall have displayed outstanding service to her local College Panhellenic during her undergraduate years. Each College Panhellenic may nominate one candidate per year.
Phoenix Panhellenic Association Centennial Scholarship
Funded in honor of the Phoenix Panhellenic Association’s centennial, this $1,000 scholarship is awarded annually. The preferred recipient shall be a collegiate or alumna member in good standing of a Panhellenic organization who lives in or is enrolled in a college or university located in the state of Arizona. Or, it may be awarded to a collegiate or alumnae member in good standing regardless of state of residence or enrollment.
Sigma Kappa Courage and Conviction Scholarship
The Sigma Kappa Courage and Conviction Scholarship was funded by Sigma Kappa in honor of Donna Crain King’s service as NPC chairman during the 2015-17 biennium. It is a $1,000 scholarship awarded annually. The scholarship will be awarded to a collegiate or alumna member in good standing of a Panhellenic organization and who has achieved a minimum 3.0 GPA, displayed significant service or contributions to her chapter, university or community at large, and demonstrated noteworthy “courage and conviction.”
