Ten $2,000 scholarships to be awarded annually to help offset the cost of a college education

INDIANAPOLIS — The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), the largest advocacy and support
organization for the women’s sorority experience, today announced the NPC Centennial Scholarships,
a new scholarship program for high school women who are planning to attend college. NPC plans to
award 10 scholarships of US$2,000 each annually, beginning with the 2023-24 academic year.

“For many years, NPC has advocated for different ways to make the cost of a higher education more
affordable to more women, including young women entering college for the first time,” said Dani
Weatherford, J.D., NPC chief executive officer. “Among those efforts are our scholarship programs
for Distinguished Young Women participants and National Charity League members. Now, we’re
pleased to extend our efforts around college affordability even further with the new NPC Centennial
Scholarships that are available for any woman about to graduate high school and enter college. We
look forward to reviewing the first group of applications this winter and announcing our inaugural
recipients during spring 2023.”
The NPC Centennial Scholarships are named in honor of the NPC Foundation’s Centennial Fund,
which will provide the funding for the new program. The NPC Foundation’s mission is to support NPC
priorities and initiatives to enhance the sorority experience, including scholarship programs like this
one.

While NPC hopes the scholarship recipients will join a sorority, future sorority membership is not a
requirement of the award.

Applications for the NPC Centennial Scholarships will be accepted between December 2022 and
March 2023. Applicants will be asked to provide a resume describing their academic pursuits, school/
extra-curricular involvement and community involvement. They also will complete a short essay
describing either their service and leadership in a women’s-only or women’s-focused organization or
their plans to participate in a women’s-only or women’s-focused organization during college.

The online application form will be available in December from the NPC website.
