National Panhellenic Conference Statement on International Women’s Day #PressForProgress

By March 8, 2018Press Release

INDIANAPOLIS—Carole Jones, chairman of the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), today issued the following statement in recognition of International Women’s Day and its 2018 theme, #PressForProgress:

“The empowerment of women and girls is a truly global calling, demanding precisely the type of cooperation International Women’s Day is intended to create. As a representative of nearly 5 million sorority women around the world, I applaud the work of the countless women – and men – who are on the front lines of our global push for women’s rights and gender equality.

“Our member organizations were founded with a mission to support and create opportunities for young women, and we are particularly grateful for the many sorority women who have made gender equality a central component of their life’s work. On all days – but particularly today – we are proud to join in a press for progress.”
