INDIANAPOLIS — The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), one of the largest advocacy and support organizations for women, is pleased to announce that 67 College Panhellenic Associations are being recognized with awards for excellence and innovation in their work to support the women’s-only sorority experience.
College Panhellenic Associations are student-led cooperatives comprised of all NPC member sororities on a campus. NPC has recognized the outstanding work of College Panhellenics through the awards process for more than 50 years. While College Panhellenics faced many challenges to their operations due to the global pandemic, 11 more College Panhellenics were recognized with awards for the 2020-21 academic year over the prior year.
“Despite the hardships presented by the COVID-19 pandemic, these College Panhellenic Associations continued their focus on high achievement and community support,” said Linda Henderson, College Panhellenics Committee chairman. “Now is the time to reflect and acknowledge the outstanding contributions made by our College Panhellenics to their sorority community, campus and the community at-large. We are pleased to recognize these 67 College Panhellenics for excellence and innovation this year.”
College Panhellenics may be recognized for the following award categories: academic innovation, community impact, judicial procedure, leadership, marketing, programming and recruitment. Within each category, award options include Innovation Awards granted to College Panhellenics that demonstrate outstanding and unique contributions to an individual award category and Excellence Awards granted to College Panhellenics that demonstrate outstanding contributions to all award categories.
To receive an Excellence Award or an Innovation Award, the College Panhellenic must also demonstrate a set of Panhellenic core competencies, such as adhering to NPC Unanimous Agreements and policies, meeting deadlines for dues and reports and keeping NPC’s information and contacts database up to date.
