INDIANAPOLIS – The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC), the umbrella group for 26 inter/ national women’s-only social sororities and one of the largest organizations advocating for women, is recognizing the Phoenix Alumnae Panhellenic Association with the Harriet Macht Outstanding Alumnae Panhellenic Award. The award, established in 1993 by Delta Phi Epsilon in honor of former NPC Chairman Harriet Macht, recognizes excellence in communication, programming, scholarship and service.
“On behalf of the award selection committee, I am so pleased to recognize the Phoenix Alumnae Panhellenic Association with this award,” said Amy Zimmer, Alumnae Panhellenics Committee chairman. “This award recognizes the stand-out success of the Phoenix Alumnae Panhellenic in exemplifying the Alumnae Panhellenic purpose, particularly with excellence in the areas of communication, programming, scholarship and philanthropic and community service each year. We applaud Phoenix and their members for all their efforts and dedication to championing the sorority experience!”
The Phoenix Alumnae Panhellenic Association (PPA) comprises women from 23 of the 26 NPC member organizations and has a membership of more than 5,000 Panhellenic women. PPA provides relevant programming in areas of service, leadership, academics and friendship and continues to educate potential members on the benefits of sorority membership.
Notably, the PPA has raised nearly $125,000 for local philanthropic organizations and dedicated nearly 4,500 hours to community service. In 2022-23, the PPA awarded $55,000 in collegiate and graduate scholarships. They also collaborated with the Phoenix NPHC Alumnae group to fundraise for their new Arizona State University scholarship endowment.
