NPC Research Review Process

The National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) Research Committee conducts and curates data and insights about the impact of the sorority experience. The committee also serves as an institutional review board (IRB) for NPC and its 26 member organizations.

We regularly partner with member organizations to document key findings with the aim of strengthening the sorority experience and equipping NPC member organizations to meet the needs of today’s collegiate members.

We also welcome proposals from prospective researchers seeking to enhance the understanding of issues facing collegiate women and broaden the body of knowledge about this population. Any research proposal involving undergraduate women who are members of NPC sororities is submitted to the NPC office for review prior to any research being conducted.

Upon completing the review, the NPC office provides a recommendation to the inter/national leadership of the NPC organizations on the campus where the research will take place. If all criteria are submitted with the original proposal, the timeline for review and response is typically four weeks.

To submit a research proposal or inquire about a research initiative, please contact the NPC Office, at npccentral@npcwomen.org.
